Petros Perakis will for the first time present his work The Primadonna Melpo, with Eleni Papaspyrou on the piano, on Sunday 13 October.

As a musician Petros Perakis studied piano and theory, he worked in education, and he composed mainly for vocal and instrumental ensembles. He collaborated with Sirius and and the Orchestra of Colours, and, as he claims, he was "probably inadvertently awarded" with the Nikos Kazantzakis award.

Eleni Papaspyrou obtained her Piano Diploma with D. Toufeksis and then studied musicology at the Department of Music Studies of the University of Athens and piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. In 2006 she completed postgraduate studies in piano performance and pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. At the same time, Papaspyro attended modern music seminars with the orchestras Klangforum Wien and Ensemble Moderne and lessons with renowned soloists such as V. Tsopela, V. Stylianou, Th. Paraskivesko, S. Speidel, C. Graf. She is particularly interested in modern Greek music and often performs contemporary works, such as Primadona Melpo by Petros Perakis. She is a PhD candidate at the Department of Music Studies of the Athens University of Athens and teaches piano at the Music School of Heraklion and the Conservatory of the Municipality of Heraklion.
