Christos Garmpidakis will for the second time present his work “Mnimi”, his compositions made from poetry by Eleni Marinaki, Leonidas Kakaroglou, Kostas Koutsourelis, Giorgos Ktistakis, Yiannis Karterakis, Irini Lagoudakis and his own. With himself on piano, singing and reciting and Aphroditi Strati on singing, reciting and vocals, on Monday 14th of October.
As a child Christos Garmpidakis started classical guitar studies, soon however, focused on progressive, new wave, ambient & neoclassical sounds. The influences are many, with most decisive being Genesis, This Mortal Coil, David Bowie, Brian Eno, Ryouichi Sakamoto, Manos Hatzidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Max Richter and Arvo Part. He composed, produced, released and performed original music for films & dance performances and released several studio albums. Recently, he started creating music to poems. He is a member of the groups diamat and lyric of leaves.
In April 2022 he founded FAir - Fraternal Air Productions, for production of music and concerts and in September 2023, he founded the Chania Music Festival.
Aphroditi Strati lives between Athens and Chania. She studied Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete and continuously takes classical piano and singing lessons. She participates in choirs such as Concórdia of the Venizelio Conservatory in Chania and Chóres in Athens. The past recent years she is flirting with experimental/improvisational music. For the performance "Mnimi" she contributes with singing, vocals and ideas.
